Awards
The Office of Crime Prevention is a centre of excellence in crime prevention and has won numerous awards for its innovative work in Western Australia.
Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards
2008
The Office of Crime Prevention received one of only two National Police Medals for its Active Partnerships Model, which enables the Office to assist communities across the State in preventing and reducing incidents of crime and antisocial behaviour in their local area.
2007
The Office of Crime Prevention was awarded $5000 and a Certificate of Merit for its work on Leavers WA, implementing the “Management by Event” program, which addressed community and student safety during end-of-year celebrations.
The Office also won $2000 and a Certificate of Merit for its Eyes on the Street program, which enlists local governments and other agencies to help report suspicious behaviour to police correctly.
2005
The Office of Crime Prevention’s Operation Burglary Countdown, the pilot program for the current Burglar Beware program won $10,000 and a Certificate of Merit.
Premiers Award
The Office of Crime Prevention was a nominee in the 2008 Premier’s Awards Improving Government category for its Active Partnerships Model. |
