Antisocial Behaviour

Antisocial behaviour can be the thin end of the wedge when it comes to crime. Although some acts deemed antisocial seem relatively harmless, they can signal a general disdain for law and order in the community.

Turning a blind eye to antisocial behaviour now may invite bigger problems down the track. Antisocial behaviour infiltrates all aspects of our society and so by its nature requires an across government, whole-of-community response.

The Office of Crime Prevention and the Western Australian Government is committed to tackling this issue as part of its broader crime prevention activities.

Antisocial behaviour includes non-criminal, ‘yobbo’ behaviour including.

  • Graffiti;
  • Foul language;
  • Intimidating behaviour;
  • Hooning; and
  • Disorderly conduct
The State Government, with help from the Office of Crime Prevention, is developing a position paper focusing on antisocial behaviour, to be released later this year.
